They have a certain endearing quality that never goes out of style. In a world where there are so many shooting stars and flashes in the pan, the Tiara 3100 Open is a rare gem. The 3100 Open is the most popular boat Tiara builds. A lot of thought has gone into this boat. Tiara had the primary motive of making it not only a comfortable cruiser but also very fishable. It's a tribute to the nearly 50-year-old company that this particular model, originally introduced in 1979, has undergone only one major redesign in all those years. Every year since it first came out, demand for the 3100 Open has been strong. Tiara must be doing something right to maintain such a continuous flow of buyers. The 3100 Open is a traditional design that features all of the Tiara hallmarks -- the superb seaworthiness and rugged construction, along with a roomy and versatile layout. It also has the signature bi-level cockpit, tilt-away helm, two-way engine room access and generous cabin headroom. And, of course, there's the teak and holly deck and warm wood cabinetry. It's available with either gasoline or Diesel power in a straight, twin-inboard engine configuration. The boat accommodates fishing and cruising equally well with its extensive list of standard features, but options are available to improve either application. For example, it can be fitted with a full or half tower for serious angling, and additional seating sections such as a fold-down transom lounge can take the place of the standard configuration. 3100 Open Design Highlights Trim tabs are recessed into the hull and come as a standard feature. One-piece welded stainless steel bowrail. The 4 foot deep keel provides resistance against wind and current, maximizing tracking and makes docking in windy conditions a breeze. Diamond-patterned nonskid on gunwales, swim platform (optional), foredeck, cockpit and helm areas. Designed with port/starboard cockpit steps for safer boarding. The electric lift on the helm deck's sole provides easy access to vital engine maintenance areas like belts, filters, water, engine oil and transmission-oil levels. Room is available for optional 7 kw gas or 5 kw diesel generator for air conditioning or other electrical luxuries. Smaller hatch between helm seats for routine checks without having to raise entire deck. The hull design boasts an 18 degree deadrise, giving a smoother ride.
